LACCD Bond Construction Program Project Status Reports
In this section, you can find up-to-date reports on the various projects that are underway as part of the Bond Construction Program. As explained below, you can also get reports on all the projects at a particular campus, and a report on the progress of the entire program as a whole.
These reports are intended to provide the status and "financial health" of each project. The reports are updated monthly.
When you open a report, you will see a variety of sections. The reports are in general self-explanatory, but the descriptions below can help you better understand them.
In the Budget and Forecast section a project is tracked through 3 distinct phases which include the following:
- Pre Construction (includes Architectural Design and DSA Approval activities)
- Construction (includes Bid& Award, Construction and Close Out activities)
- FF&E (includes Furniture Fixtures and Equipment)
For each phase an initial budget was established. These are known as Baseline Budgets. The reports show how a project is performing against its Baseline Budget. A forecast budget is calculated to show if the project is trending over or under budget. If a project shows it is trending over budget a recovery plan to bring the project back to budget can be found in the comments section and decisions area.
Project reports “roll up” to a Campus Report. The Campus reports in turn roll up to a District Report. For the Campus and District reports, the number of projects that are in the various phases are tracked. From this area you can get an idea of how much progress is being made at a campus. The phases which are tracked for Project Progress include:
- Programming (Development of a document which defines the buildings functional requirements including sq. ft.)
- Design (Architectural Documents which can be sent to DSA for approval and then used to construct the building)
- DSA Review (Governmental Agency which reviews and approves all plans prior to construction…similar to building & safety)
- Construction (Excavation and building of the structure including FF&E and turn over to the District)
