Dr. Linda Spink
Dr. Linda Spink joined Los Angeles Harbor College in July, 2000 as the fifth permanent President since its founding in 1949. She is the first woman president at the college. Under her leadership LA Harbor College has grown in student enrollment, increased grant and external funding, and expanded the activities of the LAHC Foundation.
One of her early accomplishments was to develop a comprehensive facilities master plan with the faculty and staff.
Dr. Spink has a broad background in both teaching and administration. Her Ph.D. is in Administration of Higher Education from Boston College and she holds a Master of Science degree from Boston University in psychiatric nursing. Dr. Spink taught nursing for 14 years in two year and four year college/university settings, both public and private.
Dr. Spink began her administrative career in 1984 as head of the nursing program at Massachusetts Bay Community College. She was the academic vice president at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, New York for six years.
In 1996 she moved to the California Community College System as President of Antelope Valley College. Dr. Spink served as an accreditation visitor for the Middle States Association for five years and has completed four visits with WASC.
