Intern Program

The LACCD Board of Trustees adopted resolutions to establish a Community Economic Development Program for the bond-funded Sustainable Building Program. A College Internship Program for students at the nine campuses in the Los Angeles Community College District is part of this development program.

Among the goals of the green building program is to provide educational and vocational opportunities at the District's nine colleges and satellite facilities. The Board of Trustees believes the Internship Program is a key component of the building program through which businesses, college faculty and students can collaborate to provide students with work experience that will help them to prepare for careers.

Since the start of the program in 2004, more than 1,100 internship positions have been filled in such fields as architecture, engineering, computer graphics, marketing and business management, customer service, and clerical. Internships are available on a part-time, full-time or summer-only basis.
